Capacity building sits at the heart of everything the Cameroon Migrant Network does. Migrant workers who understand their rights, the laws of their host country and the channels available to them are far better placed to protect themselves from exploitation, wage theft and abuse.
Through workshops, peer-led sessions and community meetings in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Cameroon, CMN equips workers with rights awareness, safe labour practices, financial literacy, digital skills and leadership training. Participants learn how to document abuse, how to approach embassies and labour authorities, and how to support one another through peer counselling.
The programme deliberately grows leaders from within the migrant community itself. Many of the workers trained in earlier cohorts now lead CMN community groups, run their own awareness sessions and represent fellow migrants in dialogue with employers and institutions.
