Many of the people CMN works with left Cameroon without a trade or qualification, which is precisely what makes them vulnerable to exploitative recruitment. Education is the most durable protection we can offer.
The scholarship and vocational programme supports migrant survivors, returnees and their children to complete schooling or acquire a marketable trade — tailoring, catering, hairdressing, ICT, welding, plumbing, agriculture and small-business management among them. Support covers tuition, tools and starter materials so graduates can begin earning immediately.
Learners are matched with mentors from within the network and followed up after graduation, so that a certificate becomes a livelihood rather than a piece of paper.
